Chocolates to Boiled Lollies

Apr 13, 2017

The best laid plans took a deviation with a late change in the programming for the traditional Easter Saturday meeting at Caulfield. Plot The Course was looking forward to the drop in class after 2 runs in listed events and ready to fire 3rd up back at Caulfield in the same class that saw him storm home in the spring to defeat Pilote D'Essai. With the storm putting pay to the last 3 races at Caulfield last week the powers to be in their wisdom changed the conditions of the intended BM 90 to an Open Handicap. Not happy Jan! Any way be that as it may Plot The Course scraped into the field and draws the car park in an incredibly open field. Plot The Course has run very well both runs this time in from wide draws and in good class. He strips a fitter horse but is up against it from barrier 15 and the tough field. Stiff to run into the likes of Group 1 Spring placegetters French Emotion and Great Esteem in an off season open handicap. The race see's a mixture of staying types, imports and promising horses on the up. Plot The Course will be thereabouts and with luck is an eachway chance in the Bravo Greg Miles 1600m Handicap. It would be great to hear Greg Miles in his final race call sing out  "and Plot The Course storms home down the outside to get the chocolates!"
