Zombie Scares Them Off

Apr 25, 2015

Zombie Queen notched up a well deserved victory breaking her maiden status with a soft victory second up over 1300m at Echuca. It was a pleasing result for the Trotter stable to win for Ultra Thoroughbreds with the first horse entrusted into the stable. Unlucky to still be a maiden prior to yesterdays victory Zombie Queen had strung togeter 3 seconds in a row beaten a combined total of a length. Sent out a short priced favourite first up she was unable to run down the well backed winner. That run had her fit enough to knock over her maiden with still plenty of improvement to come. It was a dominant ride by in form jockey Mark Pegus. He took up the running and controlled the race from the outset. From the 600m he started to extend on her and Zombie Queen really kicked off the bend setting up a 3 length break. A couple of slaps down the shoulder at the furlong to keep her mind on the job gave enough breathing space for Mark to be kind on her late and sit up for the photo in a soft win. Zombie Queen is showing good promise and should find herself well placed in 1400-1600m 3 year old fillies races over the next few starts. See link for photos.
