Remount Runs Em Ragged

Dec 08, 2014

The big grey Remount lead them a merry dance to break his maiden at Avoca. Dropping back from a strong 1600m maiden at Werribee where he indicated that he is a sprinter Remount gave nothing else a chance leading from barrier to box. It was a great effort by Michael getting him to win over 1100m with the blinkers applied. Jack Hill made his intentions clear from the start using his gate speed to advantage he was able to get  a mid race breather then slipped a little more leather before the corner which proved the winning move. The favourite Sylvan Dancer had the length of the straight to run him down but Remount was able to do it at both ends to claim his maiden win in quicker time than the 0-58 and a big gap to 3rd. A very satisfying win for all involved given the history and obstacles he has had to overcome to just get to the track. Remount will have a well deserved break and come back better next time in where he is capable of another win or two placed in the right races.
