Trotter Racing will emerge this weekend with 3 runners gracing the racetrack. The last 6 months have been devoid of runners with the shift to Kilmore and the moving on of some stalwarts with the young and untried horses waiting in the wings. Hopefully from this weekend onwards there will be a number of runners hitting the track. Remount heads to Geelong on Saturday in a 1300m maiden. He ran very well last start at Wangaratta and has trained on well since. Unfortunately he has drawn the car park in a big field. This may be an opportunity to ride him back and see if he can produce the turn of foot that he has shown in track work.
Toyed (pictured) resumes in the 0-58 1200m on Saturday at Geelong also. It will be interesting to see how she performs this time in off a full preparation in her new surrounds. Her gallop on Tuesday suggests she will run well on Saturday. Her form early in her preparations appear to be the best. The firmer track will suit and Brian Higgins is in great form and will no doubt give her every opportunity.
Zombie Queen heads to Ararat on Cup Day Sunday. She steps up to 1200m and looks well placed in the smallish field. Her debut run was ok after missing the start and not getting the room required before the corner at Yarra Valley. Expecting her to improve on her first up run and be very competitive on Sunday.
