September Update

Sep 30, 2014

Trotter Racing team has settled into the new surrounds at Kilmore and are really enjoying the relaxed rural surrounds. There has been a lot of work going on to upgrade and modify a number of facilities and it is exciting times ahead for all involved. The bottom line is that the horses are in such a fantastic environment and we are looking forward to getting them to the races in the coming months.

Marvellous Choice- Is back in work after a good spell to help her get over a few niggling issues that have got in the way of her producing her best. She went to the paddock a winner and hopefully with the benefit of the move to Kilmore she can return a winner. She has had a slow gradual build up and will be aimed at races over the summer.

Toyed- broke her maiden last time in and then was thwarted by wet tracks in subsequent runs. The 5 year old mare has returned to work bigger and stronger than ever and is progressing nicely in the early stages of her preparation. She too will be up and ready to race over the summer months and certainly has another win in her.

Vinnie- our soon to be named HENRYTHENAVIGATOR gelding is progressing well in the early stages of his preparation. He is a big strong boy and has absolutely thrived this time in. He is a lovely actioned horse and has been patiently handled by the stable, hopefully he can get to the races this time in.

I am Bacchus - by leading first season sire I am Invincible is on the same path as his mate Vinnie. This compact gelding is a real professional he enjoys his work. He should be up ready to trial in a months time.

Turffontein 2year old- this years purchase at the Inglis Premier Sale has headed to the paddock after completing the breaking in process and orientation on the track and through the barriers. With the stimulation of exercise and warmer weather this boy has really blossomed and has grown significantly. He will enjoy the spring grass for another month before returning to work where he is a good chance to get to the races. There are shares available in this horse and he is great value and you won't have to wait long before he gets to the track.

Cyclone Jess - was a certainty beat last time out at Seymour and this consistent mare may head to Bendigo on Thursday. Her half brother Cyclone Andy is recovering from knee surgery to remove bone chips. The dual city winner is progressing well rehabilitating on the water walker. Little sister by Host is a cracking yearling filly who could be the best cyclone yet.

Broodmare Future Plans dam of Trotter stable winners Kaitoa, Toyed and Montanita is due to foal by prolific stallion Darley stallion Strategic. Her 2 year old by Sharkbite is currently been broken in.

Remount- the big grey is due to make his racetrack debut in the coming weeks. The striking son of Dash for Cash is moving nicely on the track and has performed very well in his jump outs.

September saw the retirement of Wet Weapon who despite jumping cleanly was unable to stay the hurdling distances. He retires a sound happy horse and will be used as a lead pony to help educate the younger horses. Shenanigans was also sold to Tasmania where he will continue to race before a career in the show ring beckons.

All stable clients and prospective owners are welcome to come visit anytime to see the horses.
