Marvellous Victory

Apr 29, 2014

Marvellous Choice showed her true talent with a dominant all the way victory at Kilmore in the Box Hill RSL maiden plate over 1100m. The daughter of Choisir has been luckless in a number of runs and been plagued with some niggling issues that prevented her from breaking her maiden sooner. The stable has always been confident in her ability it was just a case of Michael getting her right. Marvellous Choice bounced back after everything that could go wrong first up at Sale did. Stuck in traffic en route to the track, a poor track and a late jockey change. Fortunately there were no such dramas at Kilmore with the experienced champion jockey Darren Gauci in the saddle it was a case of an old head on a young horse. Marvellous Choice began only moderately but was sent forward by the Gauch to take up the running were she dictated the pace and gave her rivals the slip on the turn. They had her chance to run her down but in the end she won running away and was strong on the line. Marvellous Choice looks to be on the improve and will be seen at her best up to 1400 and even a mile. Hopefully she can make the necessary improvements and step up to 3 year old fillies city class races and take advantage of the VOBIS bonuses. Great win for all involved and congratulations to the patient owners.
