December Stable Up date

Dec 01, 2013

The Christmas season is fast approaching which also signals a plethra of summertime racing in Victoria. It is a great time of year to have a horse up and about as there are many options to place a horse to advantage and for owners to get out enjoy a day or night at the track. Here is an up date of some of the horses in the Trotter Stable.

Stable star Cyclone Andy has returned from his spell and the 5 year old appears to have grown again. A dual city winner he managed a Sandown win and placing as well as a showcase win last time in. He will no doubt continue on his winning ways with a trouble free preparation.

His half sister Cyclone Jess made an excellent return from a spell at Crancourne on Friday night running 4th beaten only 1.3 lengths. Given a nice ride from Darren Gauci Cyclone Jess as expected just got a little tired over the last 100m but continued to box on all the way to the line. It was good to see her back on track as she has developed into a lovely mare and matured both physically and mentally over the last 12 months. Pat is keen to stretch her out to a mile this tme in.

Marvellous Choice was a touch disappointing first up at Cranbourne recently. She will step out over the next 7 days and hoping that she runs up to her debut performance at Flemington which entitles her to win a maiden sooner rather than later.

Toyed has headed to the paddock after proving frustrating for owners, trainer and punters that seemed to back her into favouritism on a number of occasions. She is unlucky not to have graduated from maiden class. Her loyal band of owners are keen to persist and give her the time to fully mature. Hopefully next time in Toyed can reward everyone with a win.

Toyed's family has had alot of luck all bad. She is the full sister to the ill fated Kaitoa who was a genuine city galloper. In the hope of producing a full brother the dam Future Plans was sent back to Econsul. The excitement of a colt foal was short lived with him only lasting a few days due to a bowel complication. Future Plans was served by the underated but very successful Darley stallion Strategic. We look forward to a healthy foal in 2014

Vinnie our outstanding Henrythenavigator colt is doing everything right so far at the track. There is only 10% left in this cracking colt. Everyone that has inspected him has bought in immediately such the impression he has made. His half brother won in Hong Kong recently and there have been some good winners by Henrythenavigator in recent weeks namely West Africa a 9 length winner on debut and the promising The Explorer in NSW.

Shenanigans has had 2 runs this time in over unsuitable trips to fit him up for races over 1400m-1600m over the sunmmertime. The best bred horse at Cranbourne gives 100% everytime he steps out and Michael will place him to advantage during this time of year.

Wishing everyone good luck and good punting in the lead in to Christmas and welcome anyone to the stables to inspect the stable, horses or discuss racehorse ownership.
