Stable Update 15/11

Nov 15, 2013

The Spring Carnival is in its twilight after another successful 6 weeks in Melbourne Town. The Trotter Stable had runners over cup week albeit at Wangaratta on Cup day and Pakenham on Oaks day a long way from Flemington but an interesting 48hrs for Toyed who after not putting in her best effort on the Tuesday went down in a 3 way photo on the Thursday. She obviously likes playing close to home and she will step out next week over 1400m.

Marvellous Choice is set to resume next weekend after two trials. She is most likely to kick off at Cranbourne or  Mornington over 1200m.

Shenanigans resumes Sunday at Geelong in a 0-58 over 1130m. He was a model of consistency last time in with a win and 6 placings. With the benefit of a full preparation in the stable combined with natural maturity Shenanigans is all set for a good campaign this time in. He excells on firm tracks and he should be a regular fixture over the Christmas summer period. He is all set to run well fresh in a field that appears to have only a few chances.

Cyclone Jess has come back a bigger and stronger horse this time in. She will also hit the track shortly and hopefully the added strength and maturity is all that is needed for her to quickly knock over her maiden.

Our Henrythenavigator colt (picture in trotting ring) is thriving in the stable quickly adapting to stable life. He is a big strong colt and it was good to see West Africa (by Henrythenavigator) win by 9 lengths during the week. The breed are expected to come into there own as 3 year olds. He looks a great prospect and there are still a couple of shares available in this 2 year old, anyone that inspects him will be impressed.

Hope that everyone has had an enjoyable carnival and looking forward to some of the stable runners performing well in the lead into Christmas.
