Shenanigans Breaks through .......finally!

May 31, 2013

Shenanigans finally broke through for a well deseved victory at Geelong leading virtually all the way to win decisively. The royally bred son of Redoutes Choice has been a model of consistency this time in, his first full preparation in the care of Michael Trotter finishing no further back than 5th. Shenanigans continues to thrive in the stable and has got better and better each start. Heput the  writing on the wall last run at Seymour when trapped wide,he continued to box on in the straight when entitled to weaken given the tough run in transit. On that run he was going to be hard to hold out from the good draw and the drop back to 1300m. Shenanigans is a slow maturing horse that has needed time and patience and is still 6-12 months away from reaching his potential. The key to his recent consistent form has been discovering the need for a barrier extension and him clicking with jockey Craig Robertson who has carried out the riding instructions perfectly and really clicked with the horse. A satisfying win for the team at Trotter Racing and a great result for the Broadbent family who have been very patient and now rewarded with a victory. Now that he has broken through hopefully Shenanigans can make winning a habit.
