Alittlevolcanic just misses in Adelaide

Jul 31, 2012

Alittlevolcanic returned to the stables after her gallant third in Adelaide last Saturday. The plan to find a firmer surface backfired with 12mls of rain leading into the meeting which ended up a slow 7. Alittlevolcanic has demonstrated that she is not just a speed machine with her 3 runs for the stable thus far. After beginning well a number of horses kicked up underneath her and it was obvious that R Plumb was going to be posted out wide. He settled her back last  off a moderate tempo. After a bit of a bumping duel before the corner with the eventual runner up Alittlevolcanic made up an enormous amount of ground to get within a length of the winner in third place. She has her hoof firmly on the till and with an ounce of luck and a dry surface the mare will be competitive next time she sports silk.
